I aim to create jewellery pieces that delight the wearer and help them express their personality or mood. When developing pieces, I am often driven by a feeling or sensation that comes to life through sketching and when I get hands on with precious metal and colourful gemstones. I love to feature both Tasmanian and Australian gemstones in my work as they echo the colours of my world.

Artist Statement
Inspiration for my jewellery practice comes from the world around me – nature, with its plants, rocks and water and occasionally man made elements. Working with metal to create organic forms emphasises the contrast between the inherently hard metal and soft, fluid forms it becomes. As a lifelong gardener, sewist, and general ‘maker of things’ I love the process of bringing my ideas to life in 3D forms. Learning to use complex techniques and skills keeps my mind engaged and imagination firing, e.g. using Mokume Gane which is a Japanese technique of layering, fusing, carving and forming metal to create unique patterns expressing the balance between control and serendipity. I aim to create jewellery pieces that delight the wearer and help them express their personality or mood.
Deep Below

My current collection Deep Below captures the sense of calm and rich depths being under the water. Treasures glint, showing the colours blue and green with neutrals of cream and grey nestled in gold and silver. Metal flows and wraps sinuously like giant bull kelp strands and feathery anchoring wrack tendrils.

About me
I live and work in lutruwita / Tasmania, Australia, with breathtaking shorelines, abundant nature and beauty. A lifelong maker, I discovered jewellery making in 2014, initially learning traditional manufacturing jeweller techniques and soon expanding into more contemporary and sculptural work incorporating precious metals and gemstones. My technical and design skills have been further enhanced by completing both a Diploma of Fine Jewellery and an Advanced Jewellery Diploma with the UK based Jewellers Academy.

Why I Make
My jewellery communicates flow, calm and subtlety, sensations I seek out and find in the world around me. I love bringing beauty into the world. There's a pleasure in using different materials and exploring how I can manipulate them. I have been a maker for as long as I can remember and I come from a long line of makers, people who can take an assortment of materials and make something both useful and beautiful.

I hope you enjoy viewing my jewellery and take the opportunity to make one of these beautiful pieces your own.
I love making one off custom pieces,  please get in contact to talk with me about a commission.
